  High blood pressure appears to accelerate a decline in cognitive performance in middle-aged and older adults, according to new research. The research was published today in Hypertension, an American Heart Association journal. Nearly half of American adults have high blood pressure or hypertension.   The Union health ministry today said some Covid-19 vaccine candidates may get emergency use license in the next few weeks. The Union health ministry on Tuesday said some of the Covid-19 vaccine candidates may get emergency use license in India in the next few weeks. Addressing a press conference on the Covid-19 situation in the country, Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan said the Serum Institute of India and Bharat Biotech have applied for emergency use approval of their Covid-19 vaccine candidates. The Serum Institute of India is manufacturing Covishield, the vaccine that has been jointly developed by the Oxford University and AstraZeneca. On the other hand, Bharat Biotech is developing an indigenous vaccine called Covaxin. Apart from Serum Institute and Bharat Biotech, Pfizer has also applied for emergency use approval of its vaccine in India.
